Hednesford Hills Raceway

CARAVAN CHAOS HEADLINES BANK HOLIDAY SPECTACULAR!

Bank Holidays mean only one thing at Hednesford Hills Raceway – pure non-stop mayhem! We saw some great Reliant Robin action at the Cannock quarter mile on Easter Monday, and on Monday 5th May we get ready for something even more incredible.

Ever wondered what eventually happens to all those caravans that delight in holding up the traffic every Bank Holiday weekend? Well, this May Day you can find out, as our Banger drivers race them to destruction! There are few spectacles in the short oval world to match a Caravan Demolition Derby, with wood and fibreglass flying everywhere as the drivers plough into each other, smashing the former holiday homes to smithereens. Rarely does this event have more than one finisher – but every one delivers an unbelievable pile-up and unreal wrecking action.

A full programme of Unlimited Banger racing provides more crash action, with hopes of some unusual motors being in action on their way to the great scrapyard in the sky.

Away from the crashing, high-speed race action is provided by the Legends Cars, National Hot Rods and Lightning Rods. The former class makes its third appearance of the season at Hednesford, and there are few formulas as spectacular on the UK’s quarter mile tracks. These stunning machines are based on 1930s American hot rods, and are powered by Yamaha superbike engines. Their awesome power-to-weight ratio means that they can out-accelerate a Formula 1 Grand Prix car from a standing start! Needless to say, they are not racers for beginners, and the class features some of the most skilled and talented drivers on the ovals today.

So far in 2008, we have seen five-times National Champion Ian Hales in devastating form once again at his favourite raceway, while defending points champion Russell Bull and the experienced Des Chandler and Steve Dakin have all been running at the front. It’s a big season in the Hills for the formula once again, with the National Championship being staged in August, and many more fixtures at the fastest oval in the UK.

Undreamed of speeds are also assured in the National Hot Rods. These highly tuned hatchbacks and coupes are the fastest machines on the UK’s short ovals, and their speed around the tight quarter mile has to be seen to be believed. Last time out saw West Country racer Ralph Sanders take a hat-trick of wins in his Tigra, while reigning World Champion Carl Boardley endured a luckless afternoon.

Lightning Rods are even more demanding to drive than the Nationals. Based on rear-wheel-drive Ford Sierras, they will certainly be praying for dry weather for Bank Holiday Monday, as they are a handful even on a bone-dry track. The experienced Leyland Marson should be among the front runners, while the last meeting saw Gavin Jones take the Hednesford Open title.
If you’re looking for a great family day out this May Day Bank Holiday Monday, then look no further than Hednesford Hills Raceway. The track is situated just two miles from Cannock town centre – follow the brown tourist signs from the A5.

Gates open at 10am, with action getting underway at 1pm. Admission is just £12 for adults and £6 children, with family ticket offers also available. Admission includes a great souvenir programme, and the raceway features two covered grandstands and various catering points. Bring the whole family for a day out they will never forget!

Northampton International Raceway

WILD FIGURE OF 8 ACTION AT MAY DAY SPECTACULAR!

It’s not often we see Bangers race over the Figure of 8, but on May 5th the 2 Litre Bangers will do just that at Northampton International Raceway’s May Day Extra Special.

The Banger racing at the Brafield quarter mile has been spectacular enough so far this year, but things are set to move up a gear this Bank Holiday Monday as they race over the crossover. The thrill and danger of Figure of 8 racing has to be seen to be believed as the cars crunch and crash on the intersection

With the 2 Litre rules in force, expect to see plenty of Cavaliers, Mondeos, Primeras and Bluebirds head for the great scrapyard in the sky at the end of play – who will be the last man moving at the end of the Demolition Derby?

More crash action will be provided by the Bombers, which may look a bit like Bangers, but these cars are simpler and cheaper to prepare and great fun both to race and watch. The racing is usually restricted to a “nudge and spin” type of formula, but they can be just as entertaining as the Bangers – and with around 60 cars expected to turn out, spectacular action is assured!

One formula which doesn’t need a big turnout to produce fine action are the 1400cc Stock Rods, as they proved with a super-close meeting at Birmingham last Saturday. These little Novas and Peugeot 106s are the true hot hatches of the oval world, and drivers are expected to travel from across the UK to race at Brafield this Bank Holiday Monday. Star names should include Stuart Wright, Stuart Fox and Dave Leech, but with any number of visitors set to roll in, who knows what will happen?

The line-up is completed by the young racers in the Ministox, with drivers aged 11 to 16 competing in their armoured Minis. This formula is the training ground for the oval stars of tomorrow, and there is no better way for these young talents to learn their craft as they prepare to move on to greater things.

Overall, it’s all shaping up to be a day of first class oval sport and the best way for all the family to spend this Bank Holiday – action gets underway on May Day Bank Holiday Monday (May 5th) at 1pm, with gates opening at 10am.

Northampton International Raceway is located approximately five miles from Northampton, and easily found from M1 Junction 15. Take the A428 and head for the village of Brafield-on-the-Green. In the village take the turn on the right towards Horton, and the Raceway is on the right before reaching Horton.

Entry this Sunday is just £12 adults and £6 children, and this includes a souvenir programme. Great viewing is available all around the raceway, with hot and cold food and a licensed bar on offer throughout the meeting. Bring the whole family along for a day out to remember!

PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Incarace Ltd.
Hednesford Hills Raceway

FIVE FORMULAS AT ONE MEETING FOR 100% ACTION!

Hednesford Hills Raceway presents a jam-packed programme of action on Sunday 27th April, with no less than five formulas in action.

This meeting really does have something for everyone – with high speed Hot Rod racing, unrivalled action from the Stock Cars, and the crunch and crash of the Bangers, and much more. This is all set to be the Cannock quarter mile’s busiest session of 2008 so far.

Top of the bill are the BriSCA F2 Stock Cars. These 2 litre Ford engined cars are one of the most popular oval formulas nationwide, with over 500 registered drivers from the north of Scotland to the western tip of Cornwall. The class made two appearances at Hednesford last year and were nothing short of stunning, so let’s hope for more of the same on Sunday. World Champion Mick Sworder and former champ Barry Goldin should be among the entrants, and there is a possibility of a few drivers travelling from Scotland and the Netherlands as well.

More first class bumperwork will be on show in theRebel Racers, a formula which has enjoyed a phenomenal start to its biggest season yet. These cars are based on classic 1930s body shapes and are powered by 850cc Reliant engines, and their bumpers are not there just for decoration. These machines are intended for the driver on a lower budget, and they are great fun to both race and watch. This is one of the most genuinely friendly formulas on the short ovals today, and ultra-close action is guaranteed.

Full contact action is provided by the 2 Litre Bangers, with the possibility of some leftovers from the Incarace v Buxton head to head at Birmingham’s Wheels Park the night before boosting the entry. The Scrapyard Screamers team have been at the forefront of the action so far at Hednesford this year, and together with other local sides such as the Demons and Crash Co should be right at the heart of the wrecking once again. Who will be the last man moving at the end of the Demolition Derby?

For the non-contact fans, the Classic Hot Rods make their first Hednesford appearance of the season. This formula harks back to the glory days of Hednesford’s past, with the likes of Ford Anglias, Mk1 Escorts and Minis recalling the days of the golden greats at the home of UK hot rod racing. The formula is racing to raise money for RP Fighting Blindness, a charity set up to research diseases causing premature blindness in the UK, and is also supported by Retro Ford magazine. A top notch formula all round!

The grass-roots budget racers will battle it out in the Incarods, a formula unique to Incarace’s tracks and aimed at the newcomer to racing. So far the class has been dominated by Birmingham’s Jacob Roff, who has been defeated just once in 2008. Jacob is just 16 years old and graduated from the Ministox formula last season, and has also seen some good action in the Bangers to boot! It remains to be seen how he will fare in the Incarods’ only appearance at Hednesford this year as around 20 cars are expected to compete – a very open meeting is in prospect.

If you’re looking for a great family day out on Sunday April 27th, then look no further than Hednesford Hills Raceway. The track is situated just two miles from Cannock town centre – follow the brown tourist signs from the A5.

Gates open at 10am, with action getting underway at 1pm. Admission is just £12 for adults and £6 children, with family ticket offers also available – just £30 for two adults and up to three children. Track view parking is also available (on a first come, first served basis), admission includes a great souvenir programme, and the raceway features two covered grandstands and various catering points. Bring the whole family for a day out they will never forget!

For more information, call promoters Incarace on 0121 357 7328.

More action comes at Hednesford on May Day Bank Holiday on May 5th, headlined by the legendary Hednesford Caravan Race. Look out for more information coming soon!

Birmingham Wheels Raceway

INCARACE AND BUXTON GO HEAD TO HEAD AT WHEELS!

Forget Alonso v Hamilton or Coulthard v Massa – motorsport’s biggest confrontation this weekend takes place at Birmingham Wheels Raceway on Saturday 26th April as Incarace’s top Banger racers square off against the best from Buxton Raceway!

It’s been some time since the men from the Midlands have gone head to head with another promotion, but with a new breed of young talent rapidly rising through the ranks, the side should pack enough firepower to send the men from the Peak District running for the hills!

Buxton have plenty of experience on their side, with the likes of Peter Corbett, Steve Thacker and the Heywood brothers racing for many years up in the Derbyshire hills, and they will have to call on all their knowledge and much more to defeat the might of Incarace.

The Scrapyard Screamers team should head the home side into battle, while the likes of Matty Cooke, Lee Usher and Richard “Bandit” Hayward will provide able backup. A mixture of drivers who can both race and wreck is needed for a team such as this, and in these star names Incarace have just that mix.

Support comes from the super-quick 1400cc Stock Rods in their first appearance of the season at Birmingham, and from the grass roots budget racers in the Hot Fords, who have had spectacular meetings at Hednesford and Wheels so far in 2008.

It all kicks off this Saturday night at 6pm at Birmingham Wheels Raceway – the home of motor sport in the Second City. Bring all your friends and family along and give the Incarace team your support!

Birmingham Wheels Raceway is situated off Landor Street in the Bordesley Green area, close to St Andrew’s football ground. Admission this Saturday night is £12 for adults and £6 for children, and this includes a souvenir programme. Great viewing is available from both turns and the home straight, with hot and cold food and a licensed bar on offer throughout the night. Gates open at 5pm, with racing getting underway from 6pm.

BriSCA STARS BATTLE TO BE THE KINGS OF THE OVAL!

The roar of 600hp V8 engines will be heard once again at Northampton International Raceway on Saturday April 12th, as the BriSCA Formula 1 Stock Cars make their first appearance of the season.

The Brafield quarter mile is one of the spiritual homes of the F1 formula, which has been around the UK’s ovals since the 1950s. Today’s cars are far removed from those formative years, with tough steel chassis and immensely powerful Chevrolet V8 engines making these awesome machines some of the most spectacular on the short ovals. The machines’ hefty steel bumpers are not just for decoration either, with the drivers using their unrivalled skill to push their way to the front of the pack.

Part of the appeal in BriSCA Stock Car racing is that the faster drivers and higher points scorers start at the back of the field, and have to work their way to the front. This makes for unpredictable action – will a lower scorer hold on at the front, or will superstars such as Frankie Wainman Jnr, World Champion Stuart Smith or European Champion James Neachell – who will defend his title at Northampton in July – make it through to the sharp end before the chequered flag drops?

Similar action will be provided by the BriSCA Formula 2 Stock Cars. These may look similar to the bigger F1s, but they are powered by high-revving 2 litre Ford engines and, if anything, provide even closer action than the Big League.

With the same grid system used as the F1s, anyone can taste success, especially on the Northampton asphalt as we saw when the class appeared on Good Friday – so there is no predicting who will take the flag in April 12th’s final.

Overall, it’s all shaping up to be an evening of first class oval sport – action gets underway on Saturday 12th April at 6pm, with gates opening at 4pm.

Northampton International Raceway is located approximately five miles from Northampton, and easily found from M1 Junction 15. Take the A428 and head for the village of Brafield-on-the-Green. In the village take the turn on the right towards Horton, and the Raceway is on the right before reaching Horton.

Entry is just £12 adults and £6 children, and this includes a souvenir programme. Great viewing is available all around the raceway, with hot and cold food and a licensed bar on offer throughout the meeting. Bring the whole family along for a night out to remember!

Hednesford Hills Raceway

A DAY OF PURE SPEED IN THE HILLS!

The busy season at Hednesford Hills Raceway hots up even further on Sunday April 13th, as the UK’s fastest oval racers come to town in the Speed Machines event.

The four-formula programme at the Cannock Chase bowl is headlined by the National Hot Rods. These highly tuned hatchbacks and coupes are the fastest machines on the UK’s short ovals, and their speed around the tight quarter mile has to be seen to be believed.

Some of the top stars have already raced at Hednesford this year in the Central Hot Rod League, including former World Championship runner-up Steve Thompson and the ever-rapid Chris Haird, and they will be on top form once again on Sunday. With the National Championship once again held at Hednesford in August, the top names will be eager to get some early practice in.

More high speed action is provided by the UK Oval Track Legends cars. These little machines are based on classic 1930s American street rods in looks, but are powered by Yamaha superbike engines. This gives them unreal acceleration, and they can even outpace a Formula 1 Grand Prix car from a standing start!

The formula’s last appearance at Hednesford on Easter Monday saw a classic race for the Easter Challenge trophy, with multiple National Champion Ian Hales beating Tim Hudson to the line by just a few feet. Ian is one of the quickest drivers around Hednesford, but with several new names coming into the formula, he will have his work cut out in 2008.

The Legends may be difficult to drive and demand plenty of skill, but the Lightning Rods are even more demanding. Based on rear-wheel-drive Ford Sierras, they will certainly be praying for dry weather for this meeting, as they are a handful even on a bone-dry track. The experienced Leyland Marson and Lee Parsons have headed the points charts in the last few years, and will be running at the front again on Sunday.

A little bit of history is also made, as the crash happy Bombers make their first ever appearance at Hednesford. Formerly known as Rookie Bangers, these cars are fairly cheap and simple to prepare and great fun to both race and watch as they crash and bash around the ovals. The class has been pulling the crowds over the last few years at Northampton International Raceway and Birmingham’s Wheels Park – who will be the first ever winner in the hills of Hednesford?

If you’re looking for a great family day out Sunday April 13th, then look no further than Hednesford Hills Raceway. The track is situated just two miles from Cannock town centre – follow the brown tourist signs from the A5.

Gates open at 10am, with action getting underway at 1pm. Admission is just £12 for adults and £6 children, with family ticket offers also available. Hednesford Hills Raceway

BIG DAY FOR BIG BANGERS AT UK’S FASTEST OVAL

The first of two fantastic meetings in as many weeks at Hednesford Hills Raceway this Sunday sees the Cannock quarter mile’s first fixture of the year for Unlimited Bangers in their Blitz event.

A selection of Granadas, Volvos, Jaguars and more are all set to be blitzed to destruction this Sunday, and if the action in the smaller 2 Litre class so far in 2008 is anything to go by, we could be in for something very special as the Midlands’ leading wrecking specialists cruise and crash on the quarter mile. Who will be the last man moving at the end of the Destruction Derby?

High speed action will be provided by the Central Hot Rods, a class which features everything from classic Mk1 Escorts to up-to-the-minute Peugeots and Vauxhalls from the National Hot Rod formula. Hednesford is the home of hot rod racing in the UK, and the speed of these incredible machines around the banked oval has to be seen to be believed.

The Ministox enjoyed a good day’s racing at their season opener last month, and hopes are high for another big turnout from these young racers. This formula is the training ground for the oval stars of tomorrow, and while the drivers may be aged from 12 to 16 years old, their level of ultra-close race action often belies this, as they show superb car control and absolutely no fear!

The Hot Fords, a class aimed at the racing newcomer, is designed as a low-budget class with cars – usually standard spec Fiestas and Escorts – simple to prepare and great fun to race. Anyone can taste success in this formula, and in the past we have seen many novices scoring the wins, but just as often the more experienced racers carve their way through the pack, often stealing the wins right on the finish line. It doesn’t get closer than in Hot Fords!

If you’re looking for a great family day out this Sunday, then look no further than Hednesford Hills Raceway. The track is situated just two miles from Cannock town centre – follow the brown tourist signs from the A5.

Gates open at 10am, with action getting underway at 1pm. Admission is just £12 for adults and £6 children, with family ticket offers also available. PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Birmingham Wheels Raceway

MORE EXPLOSIVE F2 ACTION AT THE WHEELS!

So far this season at Birmingham Wheels Raceway, the BriSCA F2 Stock Cars have been at the forefront of the action. The three fantastic sessions seen so far will however pale into insignificance this Saturday at the Bordesley Green quarter mile, as the March Speedweeks Finale takes place.

A big field of F2s are expected to pack the pits this Saturday night, with drivers set to visit from across the UK and from all grades from white top to superstar.

The meetings so far have seen race winners from all grades and all levels of ability and experience, so it will be impossible to predict who will take the flag this weekend as the action really hots up.

Also in action will be the fantastic Rebel Racers, whose super-close race action belies their small size and 850cc engines. Some of the most skilful drivers on the UK ovals will take to the Wheels asphalt, including defending World Wide Rebellion champion 100 Adam Rubery, reigning National Points champion 2 Tony McCarthy, and 2007 Driver of the Year 588 Vicki Kingston. The Rebels are one of the friendliest and most enjoyable formulas to both race and watch, and they are set for their biggest season so far in their history.

The Incarods complete the line-up, and after a fine season opener on Good Friday, things are certainly looking up for these budget racers. 844 Antony Etheridge defends his points title, so let’s hope he has repaired the damage he suffered at the season opener. This is one formula where anyone from white top to superstar can taste success, and with car numbers growing it looks set to be a great season ahead.

It all kicks off this Saturday night at 6pm at Birmingham Wheels Raceway – the home of motor sport in the Second City.

PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hednesford Raceway enters its 50th Fantastic Year

There is no better place to spend this Easter Bank Holiday Monday than at Hednesford Hills Raceway, as the UK’s fastest oval raceway - at the start of its 50th year - presents a day of non-stop mechanised mayhem.

The Raceway is considered to be the finest Oval racetrack in Europe and generates between £2,000,000 and £3,000,000 for the local economy each year.

With over 1000 drivers registered to the track for the 2008 season, and some of motorsport“s biggest events secured for the track, the prospects for this fantastic local venue have never looked better.

Concerns were raised earlier this week concerning the long term future of the Raceway, but Cannock Chase Council have confirmed that they are only looking at amending items within the arena“s historic Code of Practice, and that the future of the Stadium is completely secure.

Good news for the 1000s of fans and drivers that flock to regular high-octane events at the track.

Incarace spokesman Mark Bond told us “Hednesford Hills Raceway is the most popular leisure resource in the local area, and plays a vital part of the local economy. Many businesses rely on the raceway, and we look forward a bright and exciting future for the Stadium.

Many drivers and fans are now third-generation devotees: Hednesford Hills Raceway is a wonderful, colourful and completely unique experience”.

The Fixture List for the new season has been released and the action starts on Easter Bank Holiday Monday “Easter Eggstravaganza” event – a firm family favourite.

The festivities kick off at 1.00pm on Bank Holiday Monday and the event features a wonderful range of racing - from the awesome USA Legends Cars to the crazy Reliant Robin Demo Derby racers; there is really something for everyone.

Legends Cars have a faster acceleration than an F1 Grand Prix car, while Reliant Robin racing from Hednesford has been featured on TV around the World, including BBCs iconic “Top Gear” programme.

Mark Bond told us “Many local families will remember the Raceway with great affection – and it is still going very strongly indeed, with record numbers of drivers and fans. There is nothing more memorable than an Easter Bank Holiday at Hednesford Raceway.

We hope to see a big turn out of old and new fans to support the re-opening of the stadium for the new season”.

If you’re looking for a great family day out this Easter Bank Holiday Monday, then look no further than Hednesford Hills Raceway. The track is situated just two miles from Cannock town centre – follow the brown tourist signs from the A5.

PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Northampton International Raceway

EGGSTREME ENTERTAINMENT ON BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY!

Northampton International Raceway’s best start to a season in years continues on Easter Monday, with four fantastic formulas in action headlined by the incredible Unlimited Bangers.

With two superb sessions of full-contact Banger racing having already taken place at the Brafield quarter mile this season, things are certainly looking up for Banger racing at Incarace. The banger boys will be crashing for cash prizes on Easter Monday, so we can expect a big field of Ford Granadas, Volvos and Jaguars to provide supercharged sliding and smashing around the oval – who will be the last man moving in the day’s Demolition Derby?

More crash action is provided by the Bombers, a class which enjoyed a well-supported season opener on March 9th. These cars may look like Bangers, but they are simpler and cheaper to prepare, and all the drivers will tell you that they are great fun to race. If you’re looking to get started in motor racing, then this is the class for you!

The Bombers are all set for their biggest season to date, with appearances scheduled for Birmingham Wheels Raceway and Hednesford Hills Raceway – the UK’s fastest short oval – later this year. What a year we have in store for these crashers!

The Rebel Racers enjoyed their best ever season last year, and are set for even greater things in 2008. It is hard to believe that these cars have engines of just 850cc, as they provide some of the closest and wildest action on the UK ovals.

Last season Adam Rubery took the World Wide Rebellion title at Northampton in a thrilling race, while Keith Murphy won their World Masters title in a stunning finish, the top three crossing the line inches apart. If more action like this takes place on Easter Monday, we could be in for something very special indeed.

The all-action Lightning Rods complete the programme, these big rear-wheel-drive Sierras always proving tough to handle and demanding a huge amount of driving skill. Keep an eye on the back of the grid as the faster names fight their way through the pack with tail-slides aplenty.

Overall, it’s all shaping up to be a day of first class oval sport – action gets underway this Easter Monday (24th March) at 1pm, with gates opening at 10am.

Northampton International Raceway is located approximately five miles from Northampton, and easily found from M1 Junction 15. Take the A428 and head for the village of Brafield-on-the-Green. In the village take the turn on the right towards Horton, and the Raceway is on the right before reaching Horton.

Entry this Bank Holiday Monday is just £12 adults and £6 children with family tickets (two adults and up to three children) at £30, and this includes a souvenir programme. Great viewing is available all around the raceway, with hot and cold food and a licensed bar on offer throughout the meeting. Bring the whole family along for a Bank Holiday day out to remember!

F2 SPEEDWEEKS CHALLENGE ROARS ON AT WHEELS

The top oval racing formula at Birmingham Wheels Raceway returns for more on March 8th, as the BriSCA Formula 2 Stock Cars race for their March Speedweeks tournament as part of the Speed Central spectacular.

If last season’s Formula 2 action at Wheels was anything to go by, then we should be in for some truly stunning racing from the class in ’08. With at least 60 cars expected to race next Saturday, packed grids and ultra close action are assured – and the cars’ hefty steel bumpers are not just for decoration either.

Some top fixtures are set for the Wheels Raceway for the f2s in 2008, with the track staging the English Open Championship on August 23rd, while November sees the fifth annual BriSCA Central League Final, a competition which attracts drivers from all over the UK.

Also in action at Speed Central are the jaw-dropping National Hot Rods – quite simply the fastest things on a short oval! These awesome souped-up coupes and hatchbacks provide unrivalled thrills as they blast at an incredible pace around the tight quarter-mile tracks around the UK, with the drivers displaying incredible skill as they race inches apart.

PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Northampton International Raceway

A NEW SEASON ROLLS INTO ACTION AT NIR!

54 consecutive years of top motorsport action rumbles on at Northampton International raceway this Sunday, as four fantastic formulas get ready to open the new oval racing season.

Top of the bill at the Brafield quarter mile this Sunday are the 2 Litre Bangers, and if last month’s John Heynes Memorial Heartbreaker meeting was anything to go by, we should see something ultra spectacular as these life-expired Nissans, Fords and Vauxhalls race to destruction. This really is the wildest of motorsports, with the stripped-down saloons and hatchbacks crashing and bashing their way to the flag – and only one will be left running come the end of the day’s Demolition Derby.

Also in action will be the ever-popular Bombers – these may look like Bangers, but these cars are built more to last than their big-hitting brothers. This formula is designed as a cheaper way to get out there on the ovals and have some fun – and with fixtures at Birmingham Wheels and Hednesford Hills Raceway scheduled later in the summer, this is all set to be the Bombers’ biggest season ever.

Away from the crashing, high-speed action is assured in the incredible National Super Rods. These big wheel-spinning saloons provide awesome tail-sliding action as they roar flat-out around the tarmac oval, with the drivers displaying brilliant skill and nerve.

Similar super-close racing will be provided by the Stock Rods, with these 1400cc hatchback racers set to turn out in huge numbers. Some of the top names on the ovals are set to visit from all over the UK – ensuring racing of the highest standards.

Overall, it’s all shaping up to be a day of first class oval sport – action gets underway this Sunday (9th March) at 1pm, with gates opening at 10am.

Press Release: For Immediate Release

Incarace under new ownership

As many of you will already know, ownership of the Incarace will transfer to Deane Wood, owner of Spedeworth International, on 1st March 2008.

Incarace promoter Philip Bond feels it is time to retire:

“I have enjoyed almost every minute of the job, but time moves on and it is time for me to step back a bit from the frontline of Short Oval promotion.

Incarace will continue as a company, with key Staff such as Race Director Paul Gerrard, and Technical Director Mick Reece staying on. This will ensure a smooth transition.

The only difference will be that the three shareholders in the company, my wife Liz, Mark and I will no longer own the company”.

After 10 years in the sport Mark, Incarace MD, feels that it is an ideal opportunity for him to step down and pursue his other business interests.

The new owner will be Deane Wood, owner of Spedeworth International, the main promoters of Short Circuit racing in the South and East of the Country.

Deane will now control nine tracks across the UK, and, while Incarace will continue to operate with separate offices and staff, there will be many advantages to the larger organisation.

Spedeworth/Incarace will be able to offer fantastic racing across some excellent raceways – and the new Incarace Fixture List is being finalised.

Philip was instrumental in the creation of the sport“s governing body (ORCi) and after 35 years of active Promotion, he is looking forward to a more relaxing lifestyle!

“On a personal note to Drivers, we would like to thank you for your efforts and the entertainment you have provided for 1000s of fans over the past years. It has been a pleasure to have known so many of you.

As we enter a new era for the sport, I believe that Short Circuit racing I the Midlands will continue to go from strength to strength in the years to come.”

The new 2008 Fixture List will be available from Tuesday 12th February – email your postal address to sam@incarace.co.uk for your copy!
